Great opportunity for middle school students

Share with your friends all middle schoolers are welcome! We are excited to invite your students to join us for the Atlanta Hawks x Microsoft Coded Dunk Challenge (in-person event) on Thursday, February 22nd at the YMCA Metro Atlanta Youth and Teen Development Center. Optional complimentary holiday day camp will be provided onsite for participants from 7:30am – 6:00pm. IMPORTANT DETAILS:

ARRIVAL: Guests solely attending the event should arrive by 1pm for check-in

ATTIRE: Athletic attire and footwear should be worn for on-court activities

FOOD: Please Bring your water bottle. Participants will also receive a meal and beverage at the end of the event

ACTIVITIES: An immersive coding experience will be paired with basketball skills and drills to show the STEM connection.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Guests, including Harry the Hawk, the ATL Dance and more, will be onsite and there will be cool Hawks swag available.

SIGNIFICANCE: The Microsoft Coded Dunk Challenge will provide hands on application to introduce and build an interest in coding for attendees. A self-guided practice session will be shared for fun engagement at the student’s own pace and paired with basketball skills and drills highlighting the connection to the coding exercise. This occasion will highlight the online competition open to students throughout the greater metropolitan area. Youth will be able to use coding skills to design a program showcasing a digital Harry the Hawk performing a dunk. Three awardees from the online challenge will be selected to receive prizes based on their submissions. Guests in attendance will be able to submit their entry on February 22nd during the event.
